I'm Monty, and I photograph people and events around Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk coast.
I came to this the way a lot of people do: a camera, very little idea what I was doing, and a stubborn interest in why some pictures work and most do not. I have just finished my Level 1 photography qualification, which mostly taught me how much there is still to learn.
What I shoot is straightforward — portraits, events, and the ordinary things in between that turn out to matter most later. I would rather catch someone laughing properly than pose them into something they are not.
I am early in this and would rather say so than pretend otherwise. The work on this page is what I am happiest with so far, and it changes as I get better.
