Essential browser storage
PixMedium uses a single essential session cookie (PIXMEDIUMSID) to keep the service working — for account sign-in, keeping a client gallery unlocked for your session, protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembering per-session favourites and moderation actions.
The session cookie is removed when your browser session ends. It is a first-party, essential cookie and is not used for advertising.
Abuse-prevention identifier
On event galleries that accept guest uploads, a randomly generated first-party browser identifier (a cookie and matching local-storage entry, kept for up to two years) is used, in hashed form on the server, to apply per-device upload limits and abuse prevention. The raw identifier is not linked to your identity. This storage is essential to keeping shared galleries safe and is not gated on the consent choice below.
Before your first upload to an event gallery, you are asked once to confirm you have the right to share your photos and that they follow our acceptable-use rules. Your confirmation is remembered on the device (a local-storage entry and matching cookie, kept for up to one year) so you are not asked again. This is essential storage tied to the upload feature.
Remembered devices (optional)
If you tick “Remember this device” when signing in, a first-party cookie containing a random device token is stored for up to 90 days so this browser can skip the email code. Only a hashed form is kept on the server. This cookie is set only when you opt in; you can remove it by signing out, or from Settings → Sign-in & security, where remembered devices are listed and can be forgotten.
Your consent choice
A consent banner lets you choose between Essential only and Allow analytics. Your choice is remembered in a first-party cookie (pixmedium_cookie_consent) for six months. You can change it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
PixMedium does not currently set advertising, cross-site or optional analytics cookies — choosing “Allow analytics” enables nothing today. If privacy-respecting first-party analytics are introduced in future, they will run only for visitors who made that choice.
Other local storage
Gallery pages can remember small preferences on your device, such as whether you have seen a welcome or upload notice. Public-link favourites remain device-local; verified client favourites are stored against the verified email on the server. These features are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Third-party resources
PixMedium serves its website fonts, icons, JavaScript libraries and gallery QR codes directly from its own domain. Hosting and email-delivery providers may still process ordinary technical information where needed to operate the service.
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site data through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may sign you out, reset per-session preferences and create a new abuse-prevention identifier. Essential functionality may not work correctly if all browser storage is blocked.
