Yes. The free plan includes 1 GB of storage and lets you create client galleries, event walls and a portfolio profile. No card is needed to sign up, and there is no trial that quietly turns into a subscription.

Enter your email and we send a short sign-in code — there is no password to remember. You can also sign in with Google. If you tick “remember this device” the browser can skip the code for 90 days; it is off by default.

No. Clients open a link in their browser. Depending on how you set the gallery up they may enter a password or a code sent to their email, but there is nothing to install and no account to create.

An account and your finished photographs. Create a gallery, upload, choose whether downloads are on, then send the link. Nothing else is required — no domain, no plugin, no website.

Current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile. Guest uploading at events is designed around phone browsers in particular, because that is what people have in their hand.

Yes. A gallery is reachable only through its own unguessable link, is never listed publicly, and is excluded from search engines. You can tighten it further with a password or by limiting access to specific client email addresses.

Three, and you can pick per gallery: open to anyone holding the link; protected by a password you share; or restricted to named client email addresses, where the client receives a one-time code to prove the address is theirs.

Your choice per gallery. With downloads on, a client can take a single photograph or the whole set as a zip. A proofing gallery and a final delivery gallery can behave completely differently.

Yes — favourites and star ratings. Selections are kept per client, so two people looking at the same wedding gallery keep their own picks and you see both. It turns “which ones do you want?” into a list you can work from.

Yes. The editor’s Design tab sets colours, heading typeface, title size and position, the cover image, and the grid itself — column count, spacing, corner radius, frames and shadows. Changes are drafted against a live preview and only go out when you apply them, so a client never catches a gallery mid-edit.

Yes. A delivered gallery can be locked from further editing, which is useful when a shoot is signed off and you want it left alone.

The link stops opening for your client. Expiry closes access — it does not delete anything, so the photographs stay in your account, and in your storage, until you remove them yourself. Expiry is per gallery, not a blanket rule.

Yes. A client who verifies their email address gets a single page listing every gallery you attached that address to. It is scoped to you alone — a client never sees another studio’s work, and an unverified visitor is shown nothing at all, so a forwarded link cannot reveal what exists.

You get a QR code and a short link. A guest points a phone camera at the code, the gallery opens in their browser, and they upload straight from their camera roll. No app, no account, no password passed around a room.

Because asking people to install something during a party loses most of them. A browser-based wall meets guests where they already are, which is the difference between a handful of uploads and a genuinely full gallery.

Yes. Uploads can be moderated and anything unwanted removed. Guests can also report a photo, which flags it for your attention.

Entirely up to you. When you create an event wall you can set an optional date for uploads to open and an optional date for them to close — leave both blank and guests can upload from the moment you create it, with no closing date at all. You can change either date later, or close uploads immediately from the gallery manager.

No. Once uploads close the photos stay exactly where they are, and the gallery keeps working for as long as you keep it. Nothing is deleted on a timer — you decide what to remove and when, and the only limit is the storage on your plan. (Free accounts left completely unused for a year are an exception: we email you twice before removing anything.)

That follows the same download setting as any other gallery, so you decide whether the wall is view-only or whether guests can keep copies.

Yes — they are different galleries with different rules. A common pattern is a guest wall running during the event, and a private client gallery for your finished work afterwards.

JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. HEIC — the default on recent iPhones — is not supported yet; iOS usually converts to JPEG when sharing to a website, but if you are uploading your own work, export as JPEG first. RAW, TIFF, BMP and GIF are not supported.

Full size. Every upload — client galleries and event walls alike — keeps the file at its original resolution, and that is what downloads give you. What you see while browsing a gallery is a lighter web copy, so the page stays fast on a phone, but the full-size file is always the one you take away.

Yes — the full-size file you uploaded is stored and is what a download gives you. But treat that as delivery, not backup: PixMedium is a presentation tool, not an archive. Keep your own master copies, and never let PixMedium be the only place a photograph exists.

By what is actually stored across all your galleries, including galleries that have expired or been archived. Deleting a gallery is what frees the space again.

Your photographs are stored in EU data centres. They are held in Cloudflare R2 under its European Union jurisdiction, meaning objects stay within the EU rather than being placed anywhere in the world. The website and database run on a server in Manchester, United Kingdom, and we are a UK business.

Photographs are kept in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed links — never from a public, listable location. Full detail, including the position on international transfers, is in the privacy policy.

No. We do not use your photographs to train AI models, and we do not sell or license them to anyone. Our robots.txt also asks automated crawlers not to take content for AI training. Your work stays yours.

Client galleries carry no PixMedium badge on any plan, including the free one — what your client sees is your gallery. Event photographs carry a small mark on some plans; see pricing.

Access is limited to what is needed to run and support the service — for example investigating a fault you report, or acting on an abuse report. Photographs are not browsed casually and are not shared with third parties beyond the providers listed in the privacy policy.

Deleting removes the gallery and its photographs from the service. Copies can persist briefly in routine encrypted backups before those rotate out. If you need deletion confirmed for your own client, contact us and we will confirm in writing.

If you shoot for organisations that require a DPA or written confirmation of storage locations, email us and we will deal with it directly.

All plans are priced and charged in pounds sterling (GBP). You can subscribe from outside the United Kingdom — checkout shows your local currency where supported, and your bank converts at its own rate. Any tax that applies is included in the price shown, so the figure on pricing is the figure you pay.

Both, from the billing section of your dashboard. Switching plans takes effect immediately and is prorated. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Nothing is deleted. A downgrade stops new uploads and new galleries once you are over the limit, but existing photographs stay exactly where they are, and every gallery you have already published keeps working.

No. You pay a monthly subscription and nothing else. We take no percentage of anything you charge your clients.

A receipt is emailed for each payment, and every invoice is available in the billing portal from your dashboard, where you can also update your card.
